Professor Porzecanski, Distinguished Economist-in-Residence, is a renowned expert in international finance, emerging markets and Latin American economics and politics. In early 2005, he brought to an end nearly three decades of work as an international economist on Wall Street, where he rose to become chief economist for emerging markets at several financial institutions, the last one of which was the European banking group ABN AMRO. He has also been a consultant to various U.S. government agencies and the Inter-American Development Bank.
