Christopher Rudolph
PhD, University of California-Los Angeles

Christopher Rudolph has expertise in the areas of national security, international political economy, international migration, ethnic conflict, and international law. His work has appeared in the leading peer reviewed journals in political science, including the American Political Science Review (2003), International Organization (2001), Security Studies (2004), and International Studies Review (2005). His book, National Security and Immigration (Stanford University Press, 2006), examines state responses to international migration in the context of the security environment. Before coming to the School of International Service, Dr. Rudolph taught at Georgetown University, UCLA, and the University of Southern California. He has been awarded research fellowships from the Center for Globalization and Governance at Princeton University, the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University, the Center for International Studies at the University of Southern California, the Center for Comparative Immigration Studies at the University of California at San Diego, and the Institute for the Study of World Politics in Washington, DC. He has served on the editorial board of the UCLA Journal of International Law & Foreign Affairs, and also edited a special issue of the journal entitled, “Reconsidering Immigration in an Integrating World ” (3:2, 1998). Dr. Rudolph is a dedicated and innovative teacher who involves students in research areas that are of emerging importance in the context of globalization.
