Registering for the Institute

If you are an American University student, you may register for any Institute courses through my.american.edu as you would register for any summer courses.

If you are not an American University student, please print out the 2009 Application and fax it to Attn: Kia Hall, Program Coordinator, Summer Human Rights Summer Institute at 202-885-2494.

For a quicker response, send an e-mail to kh2547a@american.edu to let Kia know that you have faxed an application. Also, feel free to send any questions to Kia at the same e-mail address.

Cost Information

The cost for the Institute is $1,093 per undergraduate credit and $1,178 per graduate credit. Payment for courses must be submitted two weeks before the Institute begins. American University does not accept credit card payments. Once a participant is registered, he or she can submit electronic payment with an e-check or wire transfer. Applicants preferring to mail payment, must make sure that personal checks are received by April 30, 2009.

Registration Dates

Registration begins March 30, 2009, and will continue through the end of April, or until classes are filled, whichever comes first.
