About the Summer Program
The Summer Professional Training Program provides trainings to foreign aid workers, government officials, conflict resolution practitioners, masters students, and others working in conflict zones to complement their daily field work. It is one of the first academic programs specifically designed to bridge the fields of peacebuilding and development.
Experienced trainers guide participants through hands-on sessions to explore the relationships between religion, culture, human rights, the media, gender, and applied theories in peacebuilding and development work. Participants explore innovative methods while expanding their knowledge and skills in a participatory and interactive learning environment.

"Apart from the deep knowledge shared by Mohammed and Claudia, Adina and other facilitators - the richness of interactions with classmates, teammates and break interactions afforded great conversations...Celia, Marsha, Bibi, Danae, Sowmya, Nicholas, the list just goes on - indelible impressions - multiple spheres of activities and activism. The list of countries we touched during short weeks together - all the way from Australia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria, The Gambia, Venezuela, so much of Europe and the Middle East and of course very dear US mates... Keep smiling y'all - just one more way to build peace in the world." -participant, 2003
