Research and Background
Katherine Sye Grover is a PhD Candidate, Global Environmental Politics, at American University. Her previous degrees are: Master of Environmental Management, Yale School of Environment and Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Yale University
Ms. Grover has over a decade of experience in global environmental management, and is an expert in market-based incentives and capacity building for climate change and air quality management. She spent five plus years as a policy analyst at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Climate Change Division, where she designed and implemented projects dealing with emissions trading policies and emissions quantification methodologies for both conventional air pollutants and greenhouse gases in the energy and industrial sectors. Her international portfolio concentrated on India and Mexico, yet included work in China, Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, South Africa, Ghana, Senegal, and Chile. Prior to joining the EPA, Ms. Grover worked in the private sector on corporate environmental accounting, energy efficiency, and clean energy technologies.
Currently a doctoral candidate at the School of International Service of American University, Ms. Grover's research analyzes the comparative impact of different forms of networks within the climate change regime. Her research interests include global environmental governance, international organizations, environmental policy implementation, and developing countries (esp. India, Mexico).
