SIS Alumni Association Update

In keeping with the tradition of organizing outstanding events of the SIS Alumni Association, we would like to take this opportunity to announce two exciting, upcoming events for our alumni. The first is our semi-annual Dinner and Discussion, which will be held on March 28 at 6:30 pm at the Old Ebbitt Grill in Washington, DC. The special guest speaker for this event is Michael Levett, President and CEO of Citizens Development Corps. Mr. Levett will draw on his wealth of experience in the private, government, and non-profit sectors and offer his perspective on recent trends and developments affecting the international development field. This is an excellent opportunity for alumni to meet, mingle, and learn from a distinguished speaker in a small group setting. Tickets are $35 for Alumni Association members and $40 for non-members. Seating is limited so please sign up quickly by emailing Torshana Towles at ttowles@american.edu.

The second major event is our Alumni of the Year Embassy Reception. This is an annual event to spotlight an individual alumni member who has made a significant contribution to the SIS community through the course of the past year and prior years at AU. The reception will be held this April so check your email for more details on the winner of the award as well as details on event itself.

In addition to these major events, the Association will continue to host the extremely popular Movers and Shakers happy hour event, every month, for alumni and friends.

For more information on the SIS Alumni Association please contact President, Laiza Casas at laiza_casas@yahoo.com.
