Mark your calendars: AU’s inaugural Black Alumni and Student Reunion (BASR) will be held on campus April 3-5. This is a wonderful opportunity for the entire AU community to reconnect with #EbonyEagles, reminisce about your time at AU, and acknowledge and celebrate the legacy of black alumni at AU.
The 2020 Black Alumni and Student Reunion planning committee has been working closely with the AU Alumni Association to offer an engaging weekend. It will feature a mix of casual and formal events, including a welcome reception, a townhall discussion on the topic of police encounters, and the signature event of the weekend: The Black Alumni and Student Reunion Dinner and Gala.
“This is going to be a great event, bringing black alumni back to campus to share memories and to make new ones,” said Mesha Williams, SOC/MA ’07, co-chair of the BASR Social Media & Marketing Committee. “Most importantly, it will give alumni a chance to re-engage with the AU community to help support the current students on campus. The committee is excited to welcome the alumni and students to participate in some great activities planned for the weekend.”
There is no greater time than the present to return to campus to network, take part in informative discussions, celebrate outstanding alumni, and learn about ways to support current black students.
