***Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the on-campus Spring 2020 Job & Internship Fair on April 8, 2020 has been cancelled. The AU Career Center is currently setting up a virtual career fair on Friday, May 15 2020 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. More information will be shared, as it becomes available.***

Are you ready for the Job & Internship Fair?

VIRTUAL Spring 2020 Job & Internship Fair

Friday, May 15
1 - 4 p.m.

Open to only AU students and alumni.

Planning

About two weeks before the fair, start planning. Decide what time you want to go, building in extra time in case you have to wait to speak to popular employers. You may need to ask permission to miss all or part of a class, and arrange to get notes from a classmate. You'll also want to make time to work on your resume and elevator pitch and research employers. Want some feedback from Career Center staff?

  • Schedule an appointment with your career advisor through Handshake
  • Plan to virtually attend How to Prepare for the Job Fair (date TBD; three sessions on What to Expect, Resumes 101, and Elevator Pitches).

Work on Your Elevator Pitch

When you speak with employers at the fair, you want to give a short pitch that sets you apart and quickly summarizes your skills and interest in their organization.

  • Plan your outfit in advance; you can message it to us via Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram (@aucareercenter), or email careercenter@american.edu if you have questions!
