Session I Schedule
Monday, June 21
1 p.m. - 4 p.m. - Students fly into DCA or train into Union Station
1 p.m. - 4 p.m. - Students living on campus check in and tour AU's campus
6 p.m. - Ice breakers, Pizza Welcome Dinner, Orientation to AU
Welcome to American University! Students living on campus arrive today. Those in need of a ride from Reagan National Airport or Union Station should arrive between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. After arrival, check into Letts Hall. Then tour the campus and participate in our pizza welcome dinner.
Tuesday, June 22
8:30 a.m. - Welcome Reception in McKinley for morning classes
12:30 p.m. - Welcome opening in McKinley for afternoon classes
Dinner - Dinner at Z-Burger then stroll over to tour the National Cathedral
Students and parents are welcome to join us for the welcome reception on the first day of classes to meet their professors and teaching assistants. After classes are over, students will visit the beautiful National Cathedral, which is located in Northwest Washington and just a short walk from the American University campus.
Wednesday, June 23
Meals will be served in the Terrace Dining Room (TDR). Then: Monuments at Night! Visit the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, and other can't-miss monuments.

6:30: Meet Prof. Maggie Farley, a teaching fellow for Google News initative. Learn how to identify Fake News and other compelling topics of our time. Commuter students and familes welcome.

Visit the Arlington National Cemetery and see the Changing of the Guard, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, John F. Kennedy Gravesite and Memorial Amphitheater.
